Marcelo Fernández Bitar is a renowned journalist specialized in Argentine rock. In 1987, he published "History of Rock in Argentina", with an introduction by Luis Alberto Spinetta, a pioneering work that had two reissues updated in 1993 and 1997, and which found its final version in 2015 under the title "50 years of rock in Argentina", with a foreword by Adrián Dárgelos.
He also published "Soda Stereo, the biography" in 1990, and in 2007 he accompanied Gustavo Cerati, Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio during the Me Veras Volver tour to write "Soda Stereo - Tour Diary". In 2016 he released "Soda Stereo, the total biography".
Fernández Bitar worked in all the musical publications that deserve to be remembered, starting with Rock & Pop and Pelo, Billboard and La Mano, of which he was editor-in-chief. He was editor in the newspapers El Cronista, Perfil, Crítica and Tiempo Argentino. He also collaborated in La Nación, Página 12 and Clarín, where he still writes. He was a journalistic producer of flagship television programs such as "La Cueva", "Rocanrol", "Volver Rock" and "Elepé".
